Neon sign of childrens wellingtons on a brick wall

Read below for a more art speak version.

I love the weather. I use it as a tool to investigate the world around me. It is a great metaphor, with a rich language. I explore the outer physical weather and the internal psycho-emotional weather. Trying to navigate and make sense of the world through weather and emotions

Currently I am doing a practice based Phd in Climate Change and Mental Health / wellbeing through a disability lens. I am also a resident at Pervasive Media Studio Bristol I am neurodivergent.

My art work is often the beginning of the real work of conversations and attempting to initiate positive social change. I am committed to Social and Climate Justice.

I am interested in the deep interconnectedness of things - the visible and invisible links that create the fabric of the webs we weave in the world.

My practice is mixed from large scale public works and performance to intimate quiet works. I like my work to create an itch that needs scratching a few days later, although sometimes it is about the moment of being there and the experience.

My practice is care based, inclusive and equitable. Sometimes i make work about things we don’t really want to talk about such as loneliness or mental health. Some of my work is also quite fun.

I am an artist, curator, writer, mentor and advocate amongst other things. You can find more about each of these under the headings at the top.

I like dance and dancing, the far north, snow, the sea and the wind. I like coffee and conversations.

I am based across Newcastle (UK) and Oslo (Norway)

If you are interested in meeting, chatting, collaborating or commissioning me i am here ajmoesby{at}gmail.com - we can always meet for coffee

Aidan Moesby is a disabled and neurodivergent artist, curator and writer bringing an emotionally nuanced context to climate change and the deep inter-connectedness between the natural and social environments. Foregrounding care and accessibility, his practice includes both Disability Arts and mainstream representation He works nationally and internationally across physical and digital platforms. He is disabled and Neurodivergent.

Through a body of work that is at once playful, intimate, questioning and deeply human he works extensively in the spaces where art, technology and wellbeing intersect.

The creation of work is often the beginning of the process rather than the end, providing the location for discussions and a public programme. The inclusion of non-art audiences to explore issues in the wider context are vital to this aspect, driven by the desire to initiate positive social change. This diversification and cross-pollination is integral to his overall practice.

Curatorially his work explores themes including climate change, identity, loneliness and connectivity through a lens of disability and intersectionality. Access and inclusion are at the heart of his exhibition design. This follows into his work as a Cultural Access Consultant working with organisations to develop awareness and understanding of Diversity and Equity and implement meaningful strategies and actions around this.
